It has been announced that the re-opening of Bracknell’s high street shopping precinct, Lexicon has been pushed back until autumn 2017.
Responsible for the regeneration of the precinct, costing £240 million is The Bracknell Regeneration Partnership (BRP), who has stated the reason for the delay is so they can revise their plans and upgrade materials and buildings.
Despite the push back, retailers Fat Face and Carphone Warehouse have both signed up to open new stores there.
A spokesman for BRP, said: "The opening has been rescheduled to coincide with the completion of the upgrading of some of the materials and buildings in the scheme, as well as the completion of new areas of public realm to ensure that the new scheme provides a totally new customer experience."
Other retailers that will appear at the Lexicon include River Island, Primark, Footlocker, Topshop and Marks & Spencer, as well as Fenwick, making it the department stores first new store in over a decade.
Richard Poyser, the Lexicon Bracknell retail leasing manager, said: “This is demonstrated by the impressive line-up of lettings announced over the past month.
“We’re excited to be able to deliver a superb town centre with great brands and attractions for Bracknell.”
The Lexicon plans to open on 7th September 2017.
