Cadbury has announced that it will be shrinking the size of its Australian chocolate bars by 10%, reducing its 220g Dairy Milk, and its assorted nutty variants, by 20g, but the price will stay the same.
The company’s decision to reduce its family block by one row has been blamed on rising costs such as a doubling in cocoa prices. Australian customers have reacted with anger.
The company said it has “reached a point where we can no longer absorb these increasing costs into the price of our chocolate blocks, we chose to keep Cadbury chocolate affordable for families across Australia and reduce our family blocks by one row”.
