The Card Factory has seen its like-for-like sales jump up by 2.6% in its half year and is now setting new store openings and market share growth in its sights.

The greetings card retailer also reported a total sales jump of 8.9% in the six months to July 31st with Card Factory opening 36 net new stores in the period and bringing the total number of stores to 749.

Card Factory chief executive Richard Hayes said: “The group continued to trade well in the first half of the current financial year with good growth coming from the existing store estate and new store roll-out programme, as well as from our smaller but developing online proposition.

“We remain confident of the group’s ability to continue to grow market share for the foreseeable future.”
