A Lister’s came out in full force at the Met Gala 2019 last night, displaying plenty of unconventional outfits.
The Met Gala is an annual benefit event for the Costume Institute held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. It is famous for is exclusive guest list and its display of extravagant outfits, which are based around a different theme each year.
The theme for this years event was Camp: Notes on Fashion, inspired by Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay, Notes on Camp.
Lady Gaga was upon the first arrivals, arrived in a bright pink dress, which the opened to reveal a second look, which was a traditional black gown. This then came off to display a third look, which was a slim fitting pink gown, which then revealed her final look, which was an underwear themed outfit.
Rapper Cardi B arrived wearing a gown designed by Thom Browne featuring 30,000 feathers. Jared Leto walked the red carpet wearing a silk red Gucci gown, carrying a replica of his own head. Katy Perry rocked a Moschino Chandelier dress designed by Jeremy Scott.
Harry Styles walked the carpet with Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele, wearing a gender fluid piece designed by Gucci, as well as heels, and a single pearl hanging earring.
