Debenhams is set to close its only remaining Australian store in early 2020, but will keep an online presence in the country.

The store, located in Melbourne, opened in late 2017 and was run by Pepkor.

The store is in an area that sees foot traffic of around 17,000 people a day, but the store is less than 4,000 square metres, which is half the size of the average Debenhams store.

The company still plans to sell online and, according to Retail Week, still plan to expand its digital presence.
