Disney is to use the second version of Microsoft’s Kinect voice and motion sensor as part of a PC-based campaign to promote an upcoming kids’ film.
The system had previously been linked intrinsically to the Microsoft Xbox but the company has now released a new version specifically designed for Windows.
The technology has been used in retail to allow customers to order tailor made garments from abroad and preview how furniture will look in their homes. It has also been used in medicine to allow surgeons to control video feeds during surgery.
