Dixons Carphone is trialling Currys PC World collection points in 22 Carphone Warehouse stores around London, Hertfordshire and Canterbury.

As of today, Londoners will be able to pick up their electrical goods from selected Carphone Warehouse stores and take advantage of the Dixons Carphone merger that happened last year.

Customers who order online by 5pm will be able to pick up their goods 24 hours later. The announcement comes just days after catalogue retailer Argos publicised a same day delivery option.

The retailer has focused on commuter hubs where time-poor shoppers who aren’t generally in the vicinity of a PC World store, generally in large retail-parks, can access the service easily.

If the trial is successful, the collection points could be implemented in the 410 stores out of Carphone’s 700, that aren’t near a Currys.

UK MD of Carphone Warehouse Jeremy Fennell said, “Londoners are time poor and have the propensity to shop online on their commute.

This gives them local, convenient access to our products if they can’t get out of town and need to take small electrical items home on the bus.”
