As Amazon announced the implementation of their new Prime Wardrobe service, shares in competitors such as Macy’s, Nordstrum, ASOS and Boohoo.com all fell in response to the news. In scenes similar to the Seattle company’s announcement of its Whole Foods takeover, companies in both North America and Europe were affected by the change. Wells Fargo analyst Ike Boruchow commented that the move may be “another potential nail in the coffin for the department-store sector.”
