It has been reported today (September 3rd) that the company behind Uniqlo, Fast Retailing are joining forces with Accenture Japan to launch a company called Wearex Co to “progress its digital innovation” by merging in-store and online shopping experiences.
Hajime Tamaoki, will be leading the company from Fast Retailing’s head office in Tokyo.
A spokesperson from Fast Retailing said: “The new initiative aims to allow customers to access and purchase products anywhere, anytime to realize an all new shopping experience.”
The new company will concentrate on Japan first before going worldwide, and will employ 50 staff including specialist IT engineers.
