American clothing and accessories retailer Gap Inc has reported another quarter of weak sales for its headline brand.

The fashion chain is currently in a period of struggle and on its fifth consecutive quarterly decline. Comparable sales fell 10% last quarter and in April, same store sales fell 15%.

Earlier this year Art Peck, Gap Inc’s CEO who took over as boss in February, made some changes to the brand’s top management, hiring a new president and let go the creative director, Rebekka Bay.

Mr Peck’s priority was to fix Gap, he said in February, with an emphasis on improving its womenswear category.
