H&M have continued their expansion into South America by opening their first store in Uruguay.
The 3,000 square foot, two storey store is located in Montevideo. It will sell a selection of fashion and accessories for Men, Women, Teenagers and Children.
For the opening day, H&M gave everyone in the queue a goodie bag, containing branded accessories and also gift cards. H&M’s country manager for Chillie, Peru and Uruguay Macu Alfaro, opened the doors with store manager Emerson Celis, sales manager Roberto de Aranzamendi and H&M’s design director Pernilla Wolhfahrt.
Alfaro said: "We have been waiting for this day for a long time and the response from our customers in Uruguay was definitely worth the wait. I am proud to welcome shoppers to our very first store and we are pleased to offer our customers fashion and quality, at the best price in a sustainable way.”
H&M plan to continue their Uruguayan expansion, with plans to open a second store located in the Punta Carretas shopping centre next year.
