With the UK in a current housing boom, furniture retail Habitat has outlined plans to expand.
Home Retail Group, the owners of Habitat as well as Homebase and Argos, purchased the company after it fell into administration in four years ago, now plans to raise its floor space by 25% by opening another 15 concessions from now until the end of the year. Presently, Habitat have 65 concessions with Homebase.
Commenting, Clare Askem, Habitat MD said: “Habitat is accessible to everybody and we appeal to people who are confident about their tastes. There will be ongoing investment into the brand. Now is a good time as retail spend is growing again and people feel more confident to take on bigger projects in the home…”
Future plans for Habitat include a revamp of Tottenham Court Road, its flagship store and is looking to spend around £1 million redesigning its website.
