Hermes said on Thursday that strong demand in mainland China was behind its strong first quarter sales.
The company posted a 16% rise in sales to 1.6 billion euros in its first quarter.
The brand has said that it will be making moves into the cosmetics industry as of 2020.
Several other luxury brands, such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci have all reported similar trends in 2019, as spending in China shifts from tourist destination’s overseas to mainland locations.
