It has been reported that Britain’s leading music retailer HMV is planning to introduce a website to allow customers to buy games and CDs online for the first time.
The company, which collapsed in 2013 with £170 million worth of debt and the threat of 223 shops closing, was saved within three months with the help of restructuring experts at Hilco who managed to save 140 stores.
Hilco have since managed to return HMV to profit and the company plans to open six new stores in the UK and 10 in Ireland.
In a statement from the CEO at Hilco, Paul McGowan said: “We are careful that we don’t want to overcook it but there is a large potential for the UK website to lift the business.”
