To mark Endometriosis Awareness Month, health and wellness retailer Holland & Barrett has launched a nationwide store takeover with model, influencer and endometriosis charity founder, Carla Cressy.

Endometriosis is a debilitating health condition affecting 1.5 million women in the UK. Symptoms range from bloating, heavy periods and  pelvic pain to ovarian cysts and even infertility. New research has revealed that one in 10 women have the condition, although it takes an average of eight years to eventually diagnose.

Holland & Barrett’s women’s wellness business, Parla, has launched a new e-learning programme with the aim of demystifying endometriosis and teaching people how to manage symptoms. The six-week ‘Take Control of Your Endometriosis’ programme includes e-modules and live webinars and will also create a connected and supportive community. Programme experts include author of ‘You Can Have a Better Period’, Le’Nise Brothers.

Some 10% of profits from the programme will go to supporting The Endometriosis Foundation which was founded by Cressy. Holland & Barrett has joined forces with the influencer to launch #EndoStories, where elements of her personal journey with the condition are displayed in Holland & Barrett shop windows. The thought-provoking campaign aims to raise awareness of endometriosis and encourage women to speak up. In addition, customers are being invited to share their own stories around ‘endo’ by using the #EndoStories hashtag on social media.
