Swedish furniture company Ikea reported flat profits last year, despite a rise in sales worldwide, as the group chose to focus on boosting benefits for employees.

Net profit was Eu3.3bn (£2.4bn) in the 12 months to August 2014 on a sales rise of 5.9%. This was held back by a Eu200 million payment to employee loyalty schemes and Eu98 million spent on bonus programmes.
