Department store John Lewis, has announced that it will be launching five industrial placement schemes for university students who will be taking a gap year to increase their work experience in retail.
The scheme will launch for the 2016/2017 academic year and will offer students experiences in head office and supply chain roles at Waitrose, retail management roles at John Lewis and Waitrose and partnership services procurement roles across the John Lewis Partnership, as well as experience in IT, insight and marketing, e-commerce and supply chain.
At the end of the 12 month placement, John Lewis are hoping that the students will return to the company on either a graduate scheme or an advertised vacancy.
