Oxford Street saw sales boost by 18 per cent in September, thanks to London Fashion Week.
Oxford Street, which is world renowned for its 219 flagship stores, including Selfridges and Gap, teamed up with The British Fashion Council for the first time ever in a bid to tempt more high street shoppers.
Caroline Rush, CEO, British Fashion Council said: “With 75 fashion flags down the length of Oxford Street, incredible in-store events, London Fashion Week and Vodafone London Fashion Weekend, the month’s activities really have become a city-wide celebration of talent, creativity and dressing up, not just for Londoners but for people from all over the world.”
The news coincided with a report that retailers also saw a boost in sales of 3.5 per cent year on year across London’s West End.
