Customers shopping online at M&S are experiencing delays of up to two weeks, including next-day deliveries taking up to three days. M&S has also temporarily removed its next-day delivery service to stores due to the issues.
Customers have been expressing their frustration via social media about the delays as the company’s Leicestershire-based distribution centre, which opened in May last year, struggles to keep up with demand.
The delays have hit today, dubbed Manic Monday, when approximately £750 million is anticipated to be spent online in one of the year’s busiest internet shopping days.
A spokesperson for M&S said: “Our customer is always our top priority and that is why we’ve extended some of our delivery options. The vast majority of orders are delivered on time. If we do miss a delivery date, we will do all we can to rectify it for the customer.”
M&S isn’t the only retailer that has been struggling recently, Tesco also experienced long delays for its click-and-collect orders from Black Friday.
