M&S has confirmed that all of its toys will be gender neutral from spring 2014. On Tuesday, the company Tweeted to say it had listened to customer feedback after complaints that its separate toy ranges for boys and girls were fuelling “casual sexism” and “gender segregation”.

M&S said that although it had only just been announced, the decision had been taken months ago.
