Fast food chain McDonald’s has said that it will no longer serve Heinz ketchup in its restaurants after Bernardo Hees, the former head of rival Burger King, took over as chief executive of the condiments group.
The decision ends a 40 year pairing and follows the acquisition of Heinz by investment fund 3G Capital, which also controls Burger King, in February. McDonald's uses the ketchup at many stores around the world, though only in Pittsburgh and Minneapolis inside the US.
