The administrators of rental chain Blockbuster are to close 62 more stores after efforts to find a buyer for the firm failed.

This latest move will leave 427 people out of work and Moorfields Corporate Recovery added that all the remaining 91 stores will eventually have to shut their doors, leading to the loss of a further 808 jobs.

The chain was hit by online streaming services as well as high business rates and went into administration for the second time in October.
