The supermarket Morrisons has announced that it plans to team up with middle-class shoppers' favourite Ocado to deliver quality fresh meat and fish straight to customers' doors.
The online service will allow customers when buying their meat to be able pick the cut of meat they want to purchase by selecting from a diagram of a cow. They are then able to request a butcher to slice a bespoke amount.
With much of the website having the same style and feel of the Ocado website, shoppers will also be able to book delivery slots by the hour and prices varying from off-peak to standard and peak times. The food can be delivered to customers' doors for as little as £1
Chief executive Dalton Philips said: ‘We are late, but not too late. We will benefit from a decade of experience from Ocado and Fresh Direct, which will bring together the very best in technology with our expertise in fresh food.’
The retailer, which will begin the launch in January 2014, has teamed up with online grocer Ocado to catapult it into the online market.
