The new retail chief of Apple, Angela Ahrendts, has been awarded a pay package which includes $68 million (£40 million) in shares, making her one of the best-paid female executives in the world. Ms Ahrendts will receive 85% of the shares as long as she stays with Apple for four years.

Ms Ahrendts, who joined Apple on May 1st, was previously the head of luxury firm Burberry.
