It has been announced today that Newport’s new development Friars Walk has signed up Mothercare as its latest retailer.
Friars Walk, which opens on November 12th will see Mothercare occupy a 6,200 sq ft unit and will also have an Early Learning Centre toy shop.
The development has also confirmed the following retailers – Pandora, Candle Company, JD Sports, Occasions Cards and Krispy Kreme.
Director and co-founder of Queensberry Real Estate, Stuart Harris, said: “In a period when many retailers are looking to consolidate their physical presence, Newport is clearly standing out as a destination of choice for many well-known brands. This latest letting, complete with the five announced last week, is testament to Friars Walk’s appeal ahead of its opening on 12 November.”
With Friars Walk being the central part of the complex, there will be a development of retail and leisure space covering around 390,000 sq ft, which will feature retailers such as Topshop, River Island, Next, H&M, New Look and Debenhams department store, as well as an eight screen Cineworld multiplex cinema and 11 restaurants.
The new development will offer around 1,200 jobs.
