A planning application for a new £10 million retail park in Nottingham will create up to 200 jobs.

If successful, Cedar House Investments’ application will transform a derelict five-acre site in Daleside Road into East Point, a retail site anchored by supermarket chain Aldi. There will be a further 30,000 sq ft of retail space and 5,330 sq ft of additional space including restaurant sites.

Peter Gadsby, chairman of Cedar House Investments, said: "This scheme will further facilitate investment in Waterside. The ambitious retail development we are proposing is much needed for the people of Sneinton to inject vibrancy into the area. The opportunity for the creation of jobs for local people will be actively encouraged both during construction and once the scheme opens when we expect there to be up to 200 new jobs."
