Boohoo has decided to back track on a decision to ban wool, just hours after initially announcing the ban.

The brand announced on Friday that as of AW19/20, it would no longer ‘knowingly source’ any wool products.

However, the following day the brand decided to back track on this decision, and released a statement on its twitter page saying that it would still use wool in its products.

The statement read,  “We wanted to let you all know a little more about our on going commitment to a sustainable future.’

‘Boohoo are committed to ensuring the wool used in our supply chain meets high levels of animal welfare, and will continue to use wool as a sustainable material.’

‘We are speaking to a number of parties including PETA, to discuss options that help us towards a more sustainable future.’
