The Office for National Statistics is expected to report that the UK economy grew in the three months to September when it releases its official figures later on today.

Growth of approximately 0.8% or above is expected, building on a 0.7% month-on-month rise in the second quarter of the year, the fastest rise since 2010.

The Bank of England and the Office of Budget Responsibility have predicted growth rates of 0.5% and 0.3% respectively, although the National Institute of Economic and Social Research predicted that output could have grown by 0.8%.
