It has been announced today that Poundstretcher-owned discount pet store The Pet Hut is partnering charity animal experts PDSA as it is looking to give customers access to its veterinary services.
The discount store is welcoming the PDSA’s pet wellbeing initiative, PetCheck programme to a number of stores.
The service involves veterinary nurses checking dogs from a mobile van by offering health checks which will include eyes, ears, coat, weight and general fitness as well as offering care advice for other pets.
The Pet Hut aims to raise £50,000 for the PDSA in the next year via fundraising in all stores to mark the partnership.
Managing director for Poundstretcher and The Pet Hut, Ian York, said: “This is an exciting partnership for both us at The Pet Hut and for PDSA as, as we grow our business, the more opportunities there will be to raise money for their excellent cause. Our stores are opening across the UK every single month, with our 100th store a real flagship moment for us.
“Now we don’t just offer great prices on petcare, but we can offer qualified advice too through our special information points.”
The Pet Hut has opened 25 stores in the last nine month and has reported that it is to open its 100th store in Chesterfield on September 18th.
