Private equity firm Permira, which owns Hugo Boss and New Look, has bought iconic shoe company Dr Martens for £300 million.
R Griggs Group, based in Wollaston, near Northampton, has been making boots since 1901, but became famous with the Dr Martens boot which became popular in the 1970s.
