A French appeal court has ruled that Ryanair must pay damages of Eu8.1 million in damages and Eu200,000 in fines after Ryanair staff were given Irish, rather than French contracts, avoiding French social security payments. The ruling follows an October 2013 judgement that ordered the budget airline to pay Eu8.8 million, including Eu4.5 million of backdated social charges, Eu3 million in pension contributions and Eu450,000 in unemployment charges.
