Department store giant John Lewis has reported that last week’s figures decreased 2.2%, mainly due to Father’s Day being later on in the month, which had an effect on trading figures.
However, figures showed that John Lewis’ online sales increased by 8.3%, whilst in individual store performance, the group’s Ashford store showed an increase of 3.7% from the At Home selection and Cribbs Causeway increased 2.5%.
Director of selling for North and New Format at John Lewis, Maggie Porteus said: "The fall of the calendar can sometimes have an impact on our sales figures and that was certainly the case last week.
“This week our At Home shop in Horsham opens, which includes a number of exciting new concepts both on the shop floor and in the Partner areas. The shop is co-located with Waitrose and it has been keenly awaited by customers who can't wait to welcome John Lewis to their town. So it's welcome to John Lewis At Home Horsham - shop number 44!”
