It has been announced that US food giant Yum Brands has seen sales drop for a fourth consecutive quarter in China.

Yum, which owns KFC and Pizza Hut has seen revenue decrease worldwide by 3% to $3.1 billion in the three months to June 13th.

Chief executive, Greg Creed said: "The China division remains on track to open at least 700 new restaurants this year, laying the groundwork for future growth."

The brand still seems to be suffering from the after effects of the meat scandal in 2014 as KFC were linked to the supplier Shanghai Husi Food, however both KFC and other fast food giant McDonald’s have since stopped using the supplier.

Figures show that shares dropped 1% in after-hours trading in New York.
