Samsung has announced a new system to link together a range of household gadgets, appliances and utility controls.
The Smart Home app will initially run on selected Samsung TVs, tablets, smartphones and its Galaxy Gear smartwatch and will start with three main sections; Device Control, which lets users set up behaviours for when they are home or away, for example lighting and television settings; a Home View feature that will enable users to peek in on their house when away via appliances with built in cameras; and finally, Smart Customer Service, which is a way for devices to let users know when they need repair or more consumable supplies.
Samsung plans to roll out the product during the first half of this year.
