Luxury department store Selfridges has already opened its Christmas shop four months prior to the big day in a bid to get tourists spending money in the flagship store.
Tourists and Londoners can head down to Selfridges to have browse through items such as over 120 crackers, 150 varieties of trees and lights and over 50,000 baubles, and that is just in August. The department store has reported there will be a lot more to choose from later in the year.
Christmas home and decorations buyer for Selfridges, Geraldine James said: “We have so many customers visiting from all over the world and eager to snap up festive souvenirs on their summer holidays, which they can’t buy at home. So we have to make sure we’re ready to showcase Christmas decorations they will truly treasure.
“We also have a large number of domestic customers who love to Christmas shop very early in the year to ensure they can take their pick of the very best selection available, whilst all collections and product are available.”
