Coffee chain Starbucks has been accused of charging higher prices in China than in other markets by China Central Television.

The report claimed that a medium sized latte at the firm’s Beijing store costs a third more than at a store in Chicago in the US.

"Starbucks has been able to enjoy high prices in China, mainly because of the blind faith of local consumers in Starbucks and other Western brands," Wang Zhendong, director of the Coffee Association of Shanghai, told China Central Television.
