The UK storm has hit commuters hard, with rail services across the south cancelled. Winds of up to 99mph have been recorded, as workers struggle to reach their destination with more than 40 fallen trees having been cleared this morning, but more expected as the tracks are inspected.

South West Trains and First Great Western are not operating a normal service until 10am whilst other networks are operating with speed restrictions, impacting on journey times. The storm is believed to have claimed at least two lives so far, after a 17-year-old girl was killed in Edenbridge and man was hit by a falling tree in Watford, London.
