Department store Debenhams has appointed previous chief executive of Home Retail Group Terry Duddy as its non-executive director.

At present, Mr Duddy is a non-executive director of Hammerson and chair of the Retail Trust and has previously held senior positions at Dixons.

Nigel Northridge, chairman at Debenhams said "We are delighted to welcome Terry Duddy to Debenhams. He has had a long and distinguished career in retail and his experience and expertise will be a great addition to the board."
