A study from hotel booking and review site hotel.info has said that employees in UK hotels are the least friendly in Europe, joint worst with Russia.

The survey took the results of reviews from over six million customers.

The report said: “Despite the fact that these countries are at the bottom of the table their hotels are nonetheless evaluated relatively positively by their guests. However if the traveller is expecting the legendary British politeness the actual result is less than satisfactory.”

Finland came out top of the list, with Germany and Austria close behind.
