It has been reported that the United Nations’ has granted world heritage status to the industry behind champagne production.
Unesco made the decision at a meeting on Saturday as well as granting 10 other sites world heritage status including wine cellars, sales houses and vineyards.
The list which already includes the Taj Mahal in India, Macchu Picchu in Peru and the Great Wall of China could mean more tourists and more money coming into the region.
Other sites given world heritage status in the meeting on Saturday include the vineyards of Burgundy in France, Diyarbakir Fortress in Turkey, Maymand cave dwellings in Iran and the Botanic Gardens in Singapore.
