US group Radio Shack is to close nearly 20% of its stores as part of a plan to stem losses.
The news comes as the firm announced a fall in sales of 10% on last year and a loss of $400.2 million (£240 million) for 2013, up from $139.4 million a year ago.
In a statement the company said: “We have undertaken a comprehensive review of our portfolio from many angles - location, area demographics, lease life and financial performance.” It added that it would be realigning its estate into “fewer locations while maintaining a strong presence in each market".
