Retailers in America including Target, Walmart and Kohl’s Corp are rejecting Apple’s electronic payments service, Apple Pay.
Some retailers are developing their own systems, whilst some have refused to accept Apple Pay at their stores altogether.
The payment service, which was launched in September, is an app that allows customers to purchase goods by holding their iPhone 6 and 6 Plus devices up to readers installed by store merchants.
A rival system, called Current C, is being developed by Merchants Customer Exchange (MCX), a consortium of merchants that includes Rite Aid and CVS.
