Construction of Westfield’s third shopping centre in London, which will be based in Croydon, is facing further delay, and is not set to begin until 2020.

Tony Newman, leader of the Croydon Council, told the Sutton and Croydon Guardian that he wasn’t sure when the construction of the shopping centre would begin.

The build has been on the cards since 2013, but its now got an expected opening date of 2023.

The construction is part of a wider Croydon regeneration project worth £5.2 billion.
