Wilko, the home and garden retailer has announced that it is to continue its work with In Kind Direct, providing surplus products as well as funding to the UK-wide charity.
Wilko has already been working alongside the goods re-distribution specialists for nine years, a partnership which has provided more than 775 charities with product donations including disability, family welfare and childcare to housing and homelessness.
Wilko has decided to give its proceeds from the new carrier bag charge to charity, with In Kind Direct receiving 20% of the total raised. Other charities to benefit are WRAP, the Prince’s Trust and Woodland Trust.
Chief executive of In Kind Direct, Robin Boles LVO, said: "Wilko has become a key retail partner providing our network of charities with much needed household products and making a difference to the lives of thousands of people across the country. The additional financial support we will be receiving from Wilko will enable us to reach more families struggling to afford everyday essentials."
